How to Print Your Domain Name for Best Marketing Results

internetFor those of you who have a business website, which is probably everyone at this point, this is just a quick reminder about the next time you are going to print your website name on business cards, newspaper ads, or any printed media.

Many smaller businesses have their website name that is a phrase of some kind. So for example you very frequently see websites named like 'www.JoesFireplaces.com' (not a real website).

It is important that when you list your website name on any printed material, that it be remembered by the individual that sees it.

Maybe you have given out a business card and the person glances at it, then puts it away but cannot find it later. Will they remember your website?

So in the example above notice how the first letter of each word is capitalized so that each individual word is easily recognizable.

Never write it out in ads like www.Joes Fireplaces.com, or www.joesfireplaces.com. In the first case, the space between the words will confuse many people trying to type that into a web browser. In the second case, you see how much more difficult it is to piece out the words than if the you use capital leters?

So the next time you have your website name printed on any adverising material, make sure you capitalize the words that make it easy for people to remember. This is how you will get the best marketing results.

Also, unlike the picture above, there is no need to include the 'http://' anymore. Everyone knows that it is assumed. Plus web browsers are smart enough now to also make it unnecessary to need to type that in.

So yes, this is a simple post and it seems like common sense to be able to make your website name more rememberable, but it's the details that count and sometimes they get forgotten.
